Benitachell is a tranquil and picturesque village, originally an Arab outpost, with a stunning coastline nearby, which is formed by a succession of cliffs of more than a 100m high that descend vertically into the sea. Located towards the Northern end of the Costa Blanca North, the village is just off the A-7 Motorway on the N332, about an hour's drive from Alicante or Valencia international airports.
This charming Spanish village between Teulada and Javea, Benitachell has become very popular as a place to live all year round for many foreigners. Although just five minutes drive to the beach at either Moraira or Javea, it provides the best of both worlds for those wanting a more peaceful holiday.
Several urbanisations surround the old town, the largest of which - Cumbre del Sol, has spectacular Panoramic sea views and its own beach, plus modern supermarkets and banks.
There are many fine challenging golf courses in the area. Try the Seve Ballesteros designed championship course at Oliva or sample the delights of the 9 hole course in Javea. In fact there is a great choice of courses within one hour's drive of Benitachell.
The local cuisine is dominated by the bounties of the sea. Excellent rice dishes abound. In recent years many international establishments have opened up, offering more familiar fare for all international tastes.
Closest beach is the El Moraig, The scenery is magnificent, spectacular rocks contrasting with the high mountain backdrop. During the high season there is a Red Cross post, South-facing and made up of small pebbles Beach and the coves of Los Tiestos and El Llebeig.
July and August are hot months and the rest of the year is warm and mild; making the area ideal for a living or holiday all year round.
