A rustic country property with panoramic mountain views

There is more to Spain than busy coastal resorts with sea view Villas. A British artist headed into the countryside and opted to design and build a rustic bolthole with panoramic Mountain views to welcome fellow artist for workshops and relaxing and mountain fresh air.

Noisy crowds, nosy neighbours and traffic jams are Issues Mr Brown never has to worry about at his finca close to the village of Tarbena.

Mr Brown searched out the land to build his dream home. When he found this location a saw the panoramic mountain views he knew this was the place for him. Mr Brown ´project´ managed the build and hired local builders and a stonemason to achieve what he had designed and made sure the build was to the highest standard. Completed in 2005 and the doors opened to paying visitors that summer running a very successful B&B and workshop for budding artists.

30mins drive inland from the blue flag sandy beaches of the Costa Blanca, and the towns of Benidorm, Calpe and Altea the way of life at this location could not be more different to the busy tourist resorts that typify much of Spain’s coastline.  For nature lovers, walkers and mountain bikers, and anyone looking for a complete switch-off in unspoilt rural surroundings, it is truly heaven. Estudio de Font Blanca is a luxury villa set amidst stunning scenery in a protected mountain area. Mr Brown has been very successful in letting the self-contained rooms to Artist involved in the courses and holidaymakers and has been fully booked between February and October. “We used to get repeat business,” he said. “We had a lot of European people, who liked the natural, private setting, and also attracted walkers, mountain bikers and bird-watchers”. “One of the reasons for purchasing in this area on the Costa Blanca North was the warm winter sun”.

Mr Brown is now looking to sell the finca. It is on the market for 750,000€.
